BACK TO THE GILA

 hey everyone!

so much has happened in the last two weeks. first off, we had some people who haven't been to church in a looooong time come yesterday. we've been working with them forever and they finally made it!! watching them partake of the ordinance of the sacrament made me cry.

okay, for transfers I'll be heading back to where I was born in the Gila Valley. however, this time I'll be in thatcher. I'm so pumped bc I'll be in elder kjars district. (he's my old comp) it's bound to be good! I'll be finishing off this guy named Elder bessett's training and become dl.

we had Vernon's Baptism too! it was so awesome. one of the most tender things I have ever seen! he was so happy and yesterday in church he was even more happy when he got interview for the aronic priesthood. he'll thrive🙌

also Tina came to church too! I was so pumped when she came.

whenever I get exhausted on the mission, I think of Alma and his example. Alma had been through a whole lot. now to put it simply, he was a full time missionary for 12 years, along with 6 more years of a part time mission. that's such a long time, however, verse 1 in chapter 43 in the Book of Alma, it states, "the sons of Alma did go forth among the people, to declare the word unto them. And Alma, also, himself, COULD NOT REST, and he went forth."

emulation is the deepest form of adoration. let us all try and emulate what the Savior did in his earthly ministry. he set the perfect example for us. he walked the unstrung path for us so that one day we will be with him again.

I love this gospel. I love the people. I love Heavenly Father. I love His Son Jesus Christ.

sincerely,
elder smith
