THE SAVIORS WAY

h

ello everyone!

these last two weeks have been pretty crazy to say the least. here's some highlights.

-Eric picked may 20th for baptism
-I sang in church and spoke the same day
-ive had two companions in the span of a week lol
-our youth kyle and scott both turn in their papers soon I'm so hyped for them
-i went fishing and caught quite a few fish
-went to tombstone
-had awesome reflective moments with the spirit this week

all in all. words can't describe how how awesome it is to be on a mission. everyday you have highs and lows. these last two week have been so powerful when it comes to the spirit. I don't know what changed. maybe my conviction. maybe my desires. or maybe even circumstances. as I have dived into the scriptures and memorized passages pertaining to Jesus Christ, I find my own conversion strengthened.

there is something so powerful when it comes to relaying memorized scripture to someone your teaching. especially when the scriptures you memorize pertain to their personal lives. for example, we were teaching this lady Brenda and she was struggling with the idea of forgiving. she wants to forgive but she doesn't know how and where to begin. I began to promise her that it was all possible if she believed in Christ. I quoted Mark 9 when Jesus Christ is healing an afflicted child. according to the record it states that this child had a, "dumb and deaf spirit." in ultimate loneliness, a father cries out to Jesus, "if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us and help us." to which Jesus responds, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to them that believeth." "straightway the father of the child cried out and said with tears, Lord I believe; help thou mine unbelief." I told Brenda that all things were possible through her belief in Jesus Christ, even if she had "no more than a desire to believe." (Alma 32:27)

there came another time where I quoted the Savior to this lady named Julie. we had been reading the account of 3 Nephi 11 with her seeing that it was her first time hearing about the Book of Mormon. as the spirit filled the room, I was overcome. I promised to her, in tears, that if our Savior was here at this very moment He would say, "Julie. I love you. Come and feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet that "ye may know that I am the God of Israel and the God of the whole earth"(3 Nephi 11:14) and have been slain for your sins that you may be clean."

by striving to live up to the invitation that Elder Andersen had given our mission a couple months ago by memorizing scripture that we can better teach using the Saviors words, I have found a big difference. I have found that when we use Jesus Christ's own words to teach others, the spirit is insurmountable.

I know that God lives. I know that He loves you.

love,
